Chin on hands

The chin on hands pose is definitely a "go to" pose for me during newborn sessions! I usually do around 8 sets during my newborn sessions and I probably incorporate this pose into at least half of the sets! Babe generally goes pretty easily into this pose and you can use it with so many different props! My favorite props to use for this pose are my little wood beds, the bucket, and just on backdrop fabric! This pose can also be easily accessorized for different looks. I like to go from headbands, to bonnets, to sleepy hats, etc! Sometimes I will incorporate a little stuffie for them to put their arm around as well. There are also multiple different angles you can get from this pose that makes for an entire different look!

This pose also tends to be a favorite for parents because it really just focuses on your babies adorable face! It's a bonus if I get smiles! If you are just starting out in newborn photography, I would say to focus on mastering this pose first! It is the easiest pose to do on a variety of sets. Once you can do this you can give variety to your sessions for sure!
